15K RUN
The 15km option at Devonport is for the hard-core runners! Completing this challenging distance - which bridges the gap between the popular 10k option and a half marathon - is not to be underestimated. Added to this, the two hour time limit means the 15k option is not suitable for walkers and there is no Competitive Walk division available.
Participants in the 15k will start at 8am - with the 5k and 10k runners - and will complete THREE FULL LAPS of the standard 5k loop course.
See below for a description and map of the course.
The Course
All participants in the 5k, 10 and 15k (Run or Walk) at Run Devonport will start under the Start Arch on the north (harbour) side of the main sport's building. From there, you proceed on a counter-clockwise figure of eight loop, bookended in the west by Navy Fields and in the east by Ngataringa Park.
THE 15K RACE IS THREE LAPS OF THE 5K LOOP
At the end of each lap, you will reach the "Decision Point" where you must bear left for the finish line or continue ahead to the Start Arch to begin your next lap. Check out the "Decision Point" map and description in the course maps page.
